Day 1 at TPT World Series-Cincinnati

The TPT World Series in Cincinnati began Thursday July 21, in sweltering heat, with the Nationals 18U squad getting their first game 9 AM on Friday. The game was played at beautiful Marge Schott Stadium on the campus of University of Cincinnati. Staff horse Brock Dykxhoorn took the hill and after 3 innings the Nationals had a 18-4 lead. That became the 4 inning mercy score after Curt Cobean came on to strike out the side in the top of the fourth. At the dish, Cobean was on 3 times(2B,2 walks) 2 rbi,3 runs scored, Jake Zuk 1-2 with a 3 run double that was 2 feet from being a grand slam, Darren Saunders 2-3(1B,2B) 3 rbi, 2 runs scored, Taylor Patterson 2-2(1B,2B) 3 rbi 2 runs scored, and Chris Pfaff 2-2(1B,2B) with 3 rbi.

Game 2 Friday saw a strong comeback, by the Nationals against the Indiana Chargers 17U Orange, fall short when a 2 hour curfew was called after five innings. Final score was 13-10 for the Chargers. The Nationals hit brigade was led by, Curt Cobean with a 3 run double, Darren Saunders 3-3 with a rbi and run scored, Taylor Patterson on 3 times(2B,2 walks) and scored three, Chris Pfaff 1-2(3 run 3B) a walk and 2 runs scored, and Jayce Dunlop with 2 sac fly rbis.
