Looking Forward to 2018
Submitted By Jeremy Jayaweera on Wednesday, January 03, 2018

We have had a couple commitments for 2018 fall, our strength program kicked off at Playball, testing #2 results have come in, Spring Training is 2 months away and phase 2 of our indoor program begins January 9th.

Couple commitments thus far with more on the way include: RHP Jordan Bahnuk to Indian Hills C.C., RHP Craig Carscadden to Frontier College in Illinois & LHP Nick Davies to Carleton University in Ottawa. We continue to send athletes to schools where they will succeed as a student-athlete and graduate. In addition some alumni have really burst onto the scene; to name a few, Michael Mueller cracking the 2017 All Canadian College team. Andy Leader, Rhys Cornell & Adam Cook taking on huge roles at Colby C.C. in Kansas. Devlin Jovetic excelling at Midland College in Texas. Carson Burns beginning to turn heads at Western Texas College. David Bruinsma fitting in at Iowa Central with his unique delivery. Jaxon Valcke at UBC and Colton Fountain at Cleary University both looking to help their teams succeed come Spring. Daniel Weagle excited to be a big part of the pitching staff at Garden City. As most of alumni left in August, our 2017-2018 teams did not waste any time preparing for the upcoming season.

We had testing outdoors in September and last month was round 2 for our athletes in the Nationals program. Our teams 15u-18u have been working vigorously in the gym with our strength team for the past 3 months. We witnessed plenty of improvement but we are not done. Testing #2 was held at Playball Academy and here are the overall winners from the combine: Parker Stevenson, Justin Rogers, Mason Dobie, Spencer Voisin, Greg Van Boekel, Cheyne Fischer, Tyler Hinrikus & Mike Duwyn. Congrats to all.

Beginning next week, January 9th we welcome our 14u teams into the training process. We will continue to maximize weight training but now we need to really implement baseball focused training. Our athletes are excited as we have brought in new instructors/coaches to help our organization excel.

Our teams are headed to Vero Beach, Florida for the 3rd straight year. The trip to Dodgertown is just 2 months away. The CPBL season is just around the corner as well. As the season draws near, the Nationals organization filled with athletes, coaches, instructors and parents are in 5th gear. The athletes have really created an in house competitive vibe this year and it seems to be paying off.
